📖 Grammar Essentials

1. Les articles (Articles)

Article indéfini : a / an

a : devant une consonne → a book, a car

an : devant une voyelle → an apple, an hour


Article défini : the

• Utilisé pour quelque chose de spécifique → the book (le livre dont on parle)

Examples:

✓ I have a dog. (J'ai un chien - non spécifique)

The dog is black. (Le chien est noir - celui dont on parle)

✓ She is an English teacher.

2. Les pronoms personnels

Mots interrogatifs :

Why = Pourquoi → Why are you late?

How = Comment → How are you?

1. Present Simple

Formation : Sujet + Verbe (+ s à la 3e personne)

Usage : Actions habituelles, vérités générales


Affirmatif : I work, He works

Négatif : I don't work, He doesn't work

2. Present Continuous

Formation : Sujet + be (am/is/are) + Verbe-ing

Usage : Action en cours, temporaire


Affirmatif : I am working, He is working

Négatif : I am not working, He isn't working

Question : Are you working? Is he working?

Examples:

✓ I am reading a book right now.

✓ She is studying for her exam.

✓ They are playing football at the moment.

3. Past Simple

Formation :

• Verbes réguliers : Verbe + ed → worked, played

• Verbes irréguliers : Forme spéciale → went, saw, had


Usage : Action terminée dans le passé

Négatif : I didn't work

Question : Did you work?

4. Future Simple
